Pairing handset
Connecting a handset to a base station is easy to do yourself.
At the base station:
- Press the registration/paging button for at least 5 seconds (and within 60 seconds). This is the gray button that lights up blue on the base station.
On the handset:
It's possible that you see the message 'Handset registration' / 'Please register handset' on your display:
- Press the button below the display message Register / Registration
- The display will show a message that it is searching for a base station in registration mode.
If there is no message on the display, start the registration procedure as follows:
- Go to settings
- Go to registration
- Press register handset/handset registration
- If the handset has found the base station, it will ask you to enter the system PIN, which is by default '0000'.
Once registration is complete, the handset will switch to idle mode. The internal number of the handset (e.g. INT 1) will be displayed on the screen.
Automatic line assignment
After registration, all connections from the base station are assigned to the handset as incoming lines. The first configured VoIP account is assigned as the outgoing line.
This assignment can be modified through the web interface of the base station. To access it, enter the IP address of the base station in the address bar of your web browser. Learn how to find the IP address of your Gigaset devices here.
