Step by Step in setting the Linphone App
Follow the below steps to install and configure Linphone on your mobile device. (Please note that the screenshots were taken using an Android device so the layout may differ from that of an iOS device, for instance).
Download the Linphone mobile app in the Play Store for Android or App Store for Apple iOS. If you are using a newer Huawei device and you are unable to find the application on Huawei AppGallery, download Huawei's Petal Search, to search for the Android file.
Step-by-Step:
- Click Assistant
- Select "Use SIP Account"
- You will be prompted to insert 'SIP Account Details'. See below
You will be requested to enter the following details:
Tip: Ensure that you click the “little eye” to see the password when you type it.
You will be requested to enter the following details:
- You are connected
Give Permission to Microphone and Phone
- Click the 4 horizontal lines next to ‘connected’
- Go to Settings >>
- Advanced >>
- Then Android App Settings at the bottom
Once in the Linphone App Info
Tab Permissions then Allow >> Microphone, Phone, Contacts
Set Audio Codecs
- Select Audio Codecs by going to Settings >> Audio.
- Deselect all Audio Codecs except iLBC

- Tab All Apps >> Find The Linphone App and

- App launch and then set your app to “Manage manually” and make sure everything is turned on.
1. Phone settings > Battery > App launch. This feature may or may not be available for all devices or labeled differently.
2. Turn off “Manage all automatically”
3. Make sure to ENABLE! all toggles.
Troubleshooting
What to do if the application does not connect to your VoIP Account
- Check your internet connection. If it is unstable or does not provide spare capacity for VoIP, you may have difficulty connecting, View the following link on why the speed and reliability of your internet connection are important.
- If the app status does not change to "connected" after logging in, you may need to double-check your 'Username' and 'Password'.
- You may receive the following message on your device to indicate the error.Go to the horizontal lines on the far left and click on the 'SIP Account'. (In this case, it is labeled 201).
- This will take you to the SIP Account menu where you can edit your details.
- Click 'back' to save changes.
- You may also delete the account
- If all else fails, delete the 'SIP Account' and start from scratch. To delete, go to the 'SIP Account menu' (as above). Scroll down and click Delete
