A Yealink handset wirelessly connects to a base station to make calls. If this connection is not available anymore, you will see 'Searching for base' on the handset's display.
Possible solutions for the problem 'Searching for base' are:
- Check if the handset is within range of the base station. If the handset is out of range, move it closer to the base station. The range of a Yealink base station is approximately 50 meters in an indoor situation.
- Try restarting the base station by temporarily removing the power supply.
- Try re-registering the handset with the base station using the steps below:
On the base station:
- Press and hold the Paging Button on the base (the one that looks like a 'Wifi' symbol) for about 3 seconds.
- If the top light on the base station starts blinking, this means that the pairing was successful.
- The base station is now in pairing mode.
- You can now pair a handset with the base.
On the handset:
- Press the 'OK' button on the handset or go to the ‘Menu’
- Go to Settings->Registration
- Choose 'Register Handset’ from the menu.
- Enter the PIN code (usually ‘0000’) of the base station and press 'OK'.
- Wait for the handset to register with the base station.

If your phone displays the message "No service" after registration, follow these steps.
