VoIP platform integration with ROBIN
With the call notifications it is possible to connect different systems to each other. This allows you to create an integration between the VoIP platform and ROBIN, an eCommerce customer service for retail brands. The integration ensures an even better user experience AND provides more insight into user behavior. This is achieved by logging all phone calls with the correct customer profile. On this page, we explain how to create this integration.
What do you need to configure the integration?
Make sure you have access to the following 'things':
- An admin account on Freedom
- An active Robin account
- An API token provided by Robin
- A phone
The settings in Robin
- Click on settings in the top right (the gear icon)
- Click on team
- Click on active user
- If you want to create a new user, click on Team and then on 'Add user'.
- Now you can enter the name, email address, password, and extension.
- Enter your internal phone extension in the 'phone extension' field. You can find it in freedom under Freedom > Admin > VoIP account.
- Click on save
That's it for the settings in Robin. Really that easy? Yes, it really is that easy, but you still need to configure some settings in Freedom
The settings in Freedom
- Before you can set up the integration in the portal, you need an API token. Go to the ROBIN website. Click on settings (the cogwheel) in the top right corner. Then click on E-mail. Your API token is shown before the @ symbol.
- Next, go to the portal and navigate to Freedom > Admin > Call notifications. Click on Add.
- Enter a description
- Choose 'ROBIN' from the 'service' dropdown
- Enter your API token provided by Robin
- Save
You're done. Is that all? Really? Yes, it's not rocket science.
What does integration look like?
When you get a call on your phone from a known phone number, Robin automatically opens the loyalty card and creates a new call.
Any other tips?
When adding phone numbers, you should use the international standard, so +31501234567 and not 0501234567.
