Restarting: This will bring the base station to its last configured state.
Upgrading the firmware: The firmware is the software that loads when the phone is started and controls its functionality. Upgrading it to a newer version, when one is released, may resolve or improve phone performance issues.
Factory reset: This erases the current configuration and applies the original configuration the phone was shipped with from the factory. You can reset the base station or each individual handset.
Restarting
Restarting the base station is usually a safe and easy method to resolve functionality issues.
Also, since restarting the base station will cause any active or holding calls to be disconnected, you should alert any users connected to the base station before performing the reset. An easy way to do so is with the handset intercom feature or just taking out the LAN (internet cable)
To restart the base station via the handset:
Press the OK button to enter the main menu.
- Select Settings
- System Settings
- Base Restart.
- Enter the system PIN (default: 0000), and then press the Done soft key.
After the above steps, the registration LED and network status LED go out simultaneously.
After a period of time, the LED indicators will illuminate solid green again when the base station restarts successfully.
Base restart is also available from the web user interface at the path Settings>Upgrade.
Firmware Upgrade
You can update the firmware on either the base station or the handset. Firmware files can be downloaded from the Yealink support portal. The file should be stored on a computer, mobile device, or network location that can be accessed by the web interface.
Before upgrading to the latest firmware you should read the related firmware notes and possibly consult with Yealink's support to ensure there are no compatibility issues or other potential conflicts. If such issues or conflicts do happen after an upgrade you may need to downgrade to a previous firmware version or perform a factory reset.
