While talking to our customers, we’ve come across a few options your Aastra phone can do, and we’ve explained them on this page. Keep in mind that there may be differences between phone types. There are more features available, so be sure to check your phone’s manual or search online for additional details.
1. Changing the internal number
If you've changed the internal number of a VoIP account in freedom.voys.nl, the internal number displayed on your device won't change automatically. This is because the number shown on your device's display is separate from the information in Freedom.
- Go to Freedom.
- In the menu bar, click on Admin.
- Click on VoIP account.
- Choose the VoIP account for which you want to change the internal number (In this example 201/Bet Weter).
- Here you can change the internal number, for example from 201 to 208.
- Click on Save.

The internal number change is not yet reflected on your device. To update this on your device, you need to log in to the web interface of the device. You can access the web interface by entering the IP address of your device in your web browser. Instructions on how to find this are listed below for each device type.
- Press the gear button on the device
- Navigate to 'Phone Status' using the arrow keys and press 'Enter' (right arrow key)
- Go to 'IP&MAC Addresses' and press the 'Enter' key. You will now see the IP address.
- Enter the IP address in your web browser.
- Username: admin
- Password: 22222
- Click on Global SIP.
- Enter your VoIP account ID in the screen name field.
- Press Save Settings.
2. Encrypted calling
By default, calls between your device and Voys' telephony platform are unencrypted over your network and the internet. Using encryption ensures that your calls are encrypted only between your phone and our platform.
Both the SIP packets and the audio itself (RTP) can be encrypted. This ensures that no one can eavesdrop on your call by intercepting network packets. We use TLS to encrypt the SIP packets. RTP audio is secured using SRTP.
This guide only describes how to enable encrypted calling.
You can quickly check if your devices are encrypted using the following method.
- Log in to Freedom.
- Go to Admin.
- Go to VoIP Account.
- Go to the VoIP Account of the device in question. If a lock icon is visible in the green ball, the data is encrypted. If it is not visible, then it is not encrypted.
