Welcome to the Polycom setup guide! Whether you're setting up a Polycom Soundstation IP 5000 or a SoundPoint IP 331, we’ve got you covered. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the necessary steps to get your Polycom device registered and configured on our platform. It’s all about making your communication experience smooth and efficient.
Setup Polycom Soundstation IP 5000
This configuration is based on the Polycom Soundstation IP 5000. Depending on the type of Polycom and the software version, it may look slightly different from the images below. For setup, it's important to enter the data exactly as shown in the example.
Finding the IP address
- Press the menu key and navigate to Status. Then select Network and then TCP/IP Parameters.
- Enter the IP address in a browser, possibly with https:// before the IP address.
- Log in with the default password 456.
Basic settings
Setting up the VoIP account
- Click on Simple Setup and then on Sip Line Identification.
- Fill in your VoIP account ID for both Address and Authentication User ID.
- Go to Freedom.
- Click on Admin
- Then click on VoIP-account.
- You can see the account ID next to the VoIP account. Hover over it to copy it.
- For Authentication Password, enter your VoIP account password.
Other settings
- Copy the information as shown in the screenshot below.
- Click on Save.
- Go to Settings and then to Audio Code Priority
- Copy the information as shown in the screenshot below.
- Click on Save.
- Go to Settings and then to Network and then to NAT
- Copy the information as shown in the screenshot below.
- Click on Save.
- Go to Settings and then to SIP
- It is recommended to separate the local SIP port for each device. The Local SIP Port depends on your VoIP account ID. For example, if your account ID is 123400007, you would enter 5067 here. Take the last digits of your VoIP account and add them to 5060. This gives you 5060+007=5067. This makes each Local SIP Port unique and easier for your router to handle.
- Copy the information as shown in the screenshot below.
- Enter the following sequence for Digitmap: [2-9]11|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9xxxT|**x.T
- Click on Save.
- Go to Settings and then to Lines and press Line 1.
- Verify that the information below is entered correctly.
- Click on Save.
- Go to Server 1.
- For Port, enter 6060.
- For Transport, enter UDP.
- Set the Line seize Timeout(s) to 15.
- Set Fail Back timeout to 1800.
- Click on Save.
After restarting, the phone is ready for use.

Setup Polycom SoundPoint IP 331 model
- Connect the Polycom device to the network (modem/router/switch/network point) using an Ethernet cable (ensure that your PC is connected to the same network as the Polycom device)
- Locate the IP address of the device by pressing Phone Menu >>Status >> Platform >> Phone >> scroll down until you can view the IP address
- Launch the web browser and type the IP address into the URL bar
- Login to the device's web interface
- Fill in: Username: Polycom Password**: 456 **
- Go to Settings >> SIP
- Click Save
- Go to Settings >> Audio Codec Priority
- Click Save
- Go to Settings >> Network >> NAT
- Click Save
- Go to Single Setup
- Click Save
Your phone is now ready for use!
