What to expect on this page
As a new customer looking to connect one or more VoIP devices to our service, you'll need to enter specific information into your devices. Given the variety of devices available, this page provides the essential details you'll need for setup. This page is written for VoIP phones, but it can also be used for other VoIP devices. If you’re unsure where to input these settings, there are many online resources that can guide you through the process.
Step 1: Is your device brand new or second-hand?
First, determine if your device is brand new or has been used previously.
I have a brand-new device
Proceed to step 2.
I have a used device from the previous telecom provider or bought second-hand
Make sure to perform a factory reset on the device. This will clear any old settings that might interfere with connecting to our platform.
Step 2: Finding the IP Address of the Device
To configure your device, you’ll need to access its web interface by following these steps:
- Ensure Internet Access: Make sure your phone is connected to the internet.
- Connect to the Same Network: Use a laptop or computer connected to the same network as your device.
- Locate the IP Address: Find the device’s IP address, which is usually listed under system settings as IPv4 or IPv6.
- Find Default Login Credentials: Check the device’s manual or look online for the default username and/or password.
- Access the Web Interface: Open a web browser and enter the IP address in the format
https://192.168.1.1(replace with your actual IP address). - Login: You’ll see a login screen where you need to enter the username and password. In some cases, you may directly access the web interface.
Having trouble? Here are some tips
Web interface is not accessible:
- Grant Permission: Some devices require enabling the web interface access within the device settings. Check the device's manual or online resources to see if you need to enable web access.
- Device Manual: Look up the device’s manual or online documentation for instructions on how to enable or troubleshoot web interface access.
Can’t find the IP address.
This indicates an issue in your internet setup. Here's what you can do.
- Direct Connection Test:
- Connect Directly: Plug the internet cable directly into the router from the phone.
- Check IP Address: If the phone obtains an IP address, the issue might not be with the router. If it does not, contact your internet provider for support.
- Check IP Settings:
- Static vs. DHCP: Ensure the phone is set to use DHCP to allow the router to assign an IP address automatically. If it’s set to a static IP, change it to DHCP.
- Test Additional Devices:
- Reconnecting Devices: Reconnect any intermediate devices like switches. If the phone works when directly connected but not through additional devices, one of those devices might be causing the issue.
- Try a Different Network:
- Alternative Network: Test the phone on another network to determine if the issue is with your current network setup.
- Check for Network Conflicts:
- Unique IPs: Ensure each device on your network has a unique IP address. Restart your router and phone to refresh network settings.
- Verify Router Configuration:
- Router Settings: Check that your router is configured correctly to assign IP addresses and is not blocking the phone. Look for any firewall or security settings that might affect connectivity.
- Consult Documentation:
- User Manual: Refer to the phone’s user manual or support documentation for network settings and troubleshooting tips.
Receiving a "No Access" Message When Entering IP Address in Browser:
- Network Configuration:
- Same Network: Ensure your computer and phone are on the same network. If a network administrator has configured the network to block certain accesses, seek their assistance.
- Browser Warnings:
- Security Warning: Browsers may warn about potential security risks. You can usually bypass this warning by confirming you understand the risks, provided you trust your network.
- Try a Different Browser:
- Alternative Browsers: If you encounter issues with one browser, try accessing the web interface using a different browser.
