At Voys, you have three options to route your calls temporarily or permanently: Opening hours | Basic, Opening hours | Advanced, and Temporary redirect. Together, they give you full control over when you're reachable for your customers. Here you'll find a few common scenarios to help you figure out which combination works best for you.
Opening hours | Basic and Advanced together
Public holidays are easy to handle with Basic — set them once and forget about them. But in the summer, holiday schedules tend to get more unpredictable. That's where Advanced comes in handy alongside Basic. Read how to create the modules here:
Adding opening hours to your dial plan
- Log in to Freedom.
- Go to Dial plans.
- Click the phone number where you want to add the opening hours.
Step 1: Add Opening hours | Basic
- Make sure you're in edit mode (click Edit dial plan if needed).
- Make sure one step is open. Click Add step or Edit if that's not the case.
- Click the first dropdown menu.
- Select Opening hours | Basic.
- Make sure your regular opening hours are set in this module.
- Click Confirm.

Step 2: Add Opening hours | Advanced
Now add Opening hours | Advanced above the Basic step to define exceptions — like a team outing, a meeting, or any other time you don't want to be reachable.
- Click Add step above the Opening hours | Basic step.
- Click the first dropdown menu.
- Select Opening hours | Advanced.
- Choose the right module.
- Important: select Move steps below to 'Does not match'. This ensures your existing steps only apply when the exception period is not active.
- Click Confirm.
You now have Opening hours | Advanced on top of Opening hours | Basic in your dial plan.
Step 3: Add call groups, messages, voicemails, call forwarding and more
Your modules are set up — now it's time to fill them in.
During opening hours: Add the steps that should be followed when you're open. Think of a call forwarding to your mobile, a call group of colleagues, or maybe a welcome message first — or all three in a row.
Outside opening hours: Let customers know you're closed. Add a message with your opening hours, or a voicemail where they can leave their details. You can also add an IVR menu with an urgent option.
Public holidays: Fill in what should happen during the times you've set. If you have multiple modules, use clear titles — that way you'll always know which message, voicemail, or forwarding belongs where.
When you're done, click Save changes. Your dial plan is ready to use.
