Welcome to the Gigaset Setup & Features guide! Whether you're configuring your internal number, setting up Do Not Disturb, or enabling encrypted calls, we’ve got everything covered to ensure your Gigaset devices work just the way you need them to.
This page will walk you through important settings like:
Encrypted calls
By default, conversations between your device and the Voys telephony platform are unencrypted over your network and the internet. By using encryption, your conversations are encrypted only between your phone and our platform.
Both SIP packets and the audio itself (RTP) can be encrypted. This ensures that no one can listen to your conversation by intercepting network packets. We use TLS for encrypting SIP packets. The RTP audio is secured using SRTP.
This guide only describes how to set up encrypted calling. If you want to know how to set up a device in the regular way, click here.
- Log in to Freedom.
- Click on Admin in the menu bar.
- Go to VoIP-account.
- Select the account you want to use for encrypted calling.
- Select the tab Advanced SIP settings.
- Check the box next to Force encryption.
- You will now see a popup informing you that changes need to be made to your phone.
- Click on Continue.
- Click on Save at the bottom of the page.
- Press the Help button on the device.
- Go to the IP address displayed on the phone using a web browser.
Click on the link Identity 1 in the menu and go to the Login tab.
- For Registrar and Outbound Proxy enter sip.encryptedsip.com:5061;transport=tls
- Click on Apply.

- For Codec enter pcma, g722, g729
- Change RTP/SAVP to mandatory.
- Click on Apply.

You are now making encrypted calls between your phone and the platform.
You can quickly check if your devices are encrypted using the following method:
- Log in to Freedom.
- Go to Admin.
- Go to VoIP-Account.
- Go to the VoIP-Account of the device in question. If you see a lock in the green dot, then it is encrypted. If not, it is not encrypted.
Tracing IP address
There are three ways to trace the IP address of the phone, both via the handset and via the base station (N510 or N300).
- Go to the phone menu (handset) by pressing the large button in the middle.
- Go to settings / settings;
- Go to system / system;

- To find the IP address via the base station, you also need your handset. Follow the steps below.
- Press the blue glowing button on the base station once briefly.
- Your handset will then ring, and the IP address will be displayed on the screen.
- Make sure you are on a local network and using a local laptop/PC.
- Go to https://www.gigaset-config.com/ from that laptop/PC and you'll be able to see the IP addresses of all your Gigaset devices.
Call transfer
Once you receive a call, you can transfer it to another device. It's possible to transfer to internal numbers (For example 201, 202 etc.) or to external numbers (mobile or fixed numbers). You can transfer with consultation (where you speak with the other party first, e.g., your colleague) or you can blind transfer (you transfer the call directly to the other device).
Example 1: You receive a call and want to transfer it to your colleague with extension 202.
- During the call, press the 'R' key and dial 202 (You'll see R202 on the screen).
- Wait until your colleague answers and you can have a conversation that the customer cannot hear.
- Press the 'R' key again to finally transfer the call to your colleague.
Example 2: You receive a call, but your colleague just left. You want to transfer the call to their mobile phone.
- During the call, press the 'R' key and enter your colleague's mobile number (on the screen you'll see, for example: R0612345678).
- Wait until your colleague answers and you can have a conversation that the customer cannot hear.
- Press the 'R' key again to finally transfer the call to your colleague.

- Press the 'R' key again to directly transfer the call to your colleague.
Setting internal ringtone
Would you like to be able to tell from the ringtone whether you're being called by a colleague or a customer? This guide explains how to set up an internal ringtone for your desk phone, so that an internal call gets a different ringtone than an external call.
For this device, you set the internal ringtone via the handset
- Go to Menu.
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Ringtones (Handset).
- Click on Melodies.
- Set the appropriate ringtone for internal calls and the SIP account being used.
- Make sure you add the “alert-internal”, so the phone knows which calls are internal. Read more about the distincive ringing on this page.
Disabling Call Waiting on the device
When you're on a line with a call and you receive another call, you'll hear a beep tone through the line. This can be distracting, so in some cases it might be better to disable this. You won't then receive a notification of a new call when you're already on a call.
The following guide is for the Gigaset R650H/S650H.
- Press the menu button on your handset.
- Go to Select Services/Network services and press Ok.
- Then click on Call Waiting/Call Waiting.
- Change the status to On or Off.
Resetting the handset with codes:
- Turn off the handset
- Hold down keys 1, 4, 7 and turn on the handset
- Enter 76200
- The handset will now be reset to factory settings
Turning off via the Web interface:
- Go to Settings.
- Then to Telephony.
- Finally to Audio.
- For Allow 1 VoIP call only change No to Yes.
- Go to Settings.
- Then to Telephony.
- Finally to Sound.
- For Allow only 1 VoIP call change No to Yes.
Changing handset IP address from Static to Dynamic (n510)
- Go to the Menu.
- Select Settings.
- Then System.
- Under Local Area Network select Type IP address.
- Here you set Dynamic instead of Static.
- Click on Save.
Setting up the address book on Gigaset
There are multiple ways to set up an address book on a Gigaset device.
It is possible to set up a local address book on your Gigaset handset (example: C610h or C530h). Follow the steps below to add, edit or delete contacts.
- Druk op de onderste navigatietoets om naar Directory te gaan.
- Press New Entry, then fill in the details.
- Press Save to save a contact.
- Press the lower navigation key to go to Directory.
- Navigate to the desired contact using the navigation key and press Options and select Edit entry.
- Adjust the information and press Save to save the changes.
- Press the lower navigation key to go to Directory.
- Navigate to the desired contact using the arrow keys, press Options and select Delete entry.
Another option is to load an external phonebook into your Gigaset device. You do this by placing an XML file on a web server. Your phone then retrieves the file, which adds the phonebook to your device.
Do not disturb
Sometimes you don't want to be disturbed by your phone. You can then set your device to do not disturb mode.
Gigaset handsets do not have a separate 'do not disturb' function. What you can do is turn off your handset. You can do this by holding down the button with the 'red handset' icon.
When you switch off your handset, all incoming calls that normally would ring your handset will be rejected. Depending on your call plan, the incoming call proceeds to the next step in your call plan.
Tip: Change the softkey on your device to 'dnd'. Press the button on the top left or right of your handset until you see a selection screen. Click on 'do not disturb' and you can now set your device to 'dnd' more quickly!
Changing internal number
If you have changed the internal number of a VoIP account in freedom.voys.nl, the internal number on your device's display will not change automatically. This is because the display of numbers on your device is independent from the information in Freedom.
- Press the blue button on the front of the base station; the registered handsets will now ring and the IP address will be displayed on the screen.
- In a web browser (on a computer that's on the same network as the phone), go to the IP address of the phone.
- Log in with password 0000
- Click on Settings.
- Then click on Telephony.
- Next click on Connections.
- Finally click on Edit next to the line you want to modify.
- For Connection name or Number and Display name, enter the internal number of your VoIP account.
- Click on Save.

BLF on Gigaset PRO IP DE410, DE700, and DE900
- Open the device’s web interface and go to the Function Keys menu
- Click Edit next to the key you want to configure
- Choose BLF
- Select the correct SIP account/line
- Use the VoIP Account ID (not the extension number) of the phone you want to monitor
You can find the Account ID in the portal under VoIP Accounts.
Note:
The BLF key will blink when the other phone rings and stay lit when it's in a call. You can also press it to call that device internally.
Call pickup with *8 does not work via BLF but does work if you set up a Pickup Group and dial *8 manually.
